‘Salman, the Persian’ filming kicks off again

The highly anticipated Iranian historical series 'Salman the Persian' has resumed production in Tehran.

The highly anticipated Iranian historical series 'Salman the Persian' has resumed production in Tehran following a brief hiatus due to the recent passing of director Davoud Mirbaqeri's wife.

The ambitious project, chronicling the remarkable life of Salman the Persian, is now back in production at the Ghazali Cinema Town.

The current filming schedule focuses on scenes depicting ancient Persia, a crucial chapter in the series that follows Salman's extraordinary journey from Zoroastrianism to becoming one of Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) closest companions.

'Salman the Persian' is one of Iran's most expensive and elaborate television productions. Its cinematography began in 2019.

The series features massive set pieces, thousands of extras, and shooting locations.

According to earlier reports, the production has faced various challenges, including COVID-19 delays and the complex logistics of recreating multiple historical periods.

The story of this series is narrated from the birth of Roozbeh (Salman) until his death.

The series reportedly employed state-of-the-art visual effects and required the construction of elaborate period-accurate sets.

The series, produced by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), is expected to be one of the most significant television events in Iran's broadcasting history.

While no official release date has been announced, the continuing production schedule suggests viewers might see the first episode of this epic historical drama by late 2025 or early 2026.
